PA (Polyamide)

Polyamide is used in places where resistance to abrasion is important. The main products made of polyamide include cogwheels, industrial castors, mechanical constructions, pump parts and sliding rails.

Water absorbency up to 1,4%

High strength and good toughness

POM (polyacetal)

Polyacetal is especially suitable for demanding environments, such as the food industry and the textile industry.

Bushings, cog wheels and screws are the main products made from polyacetal.

Operating temperature -50°C…+110°C

Low moisture absorption, up to 0,9%

Good toughness and stiffness, high strength

No micropores

Good dimensional stability

Easily processed

Not resistant to strong acids

Very resistant to solvents

Suitable for use in the food industry

PE (polyethylene)

Polyethylene is known for its wide range of uses and its sliding properties. The main products made from polyethylene include sliding parts, containers, seals, details of medical equipment and details of equipment in the food industry.

Density 0,9g/cm3

Operating temperature -50°C…+90°C

Good sliding properties

Easily welded

Resistant to chemicals

Very good electrical and dielectric properties

Suitable for use in the food industry

Excellent abrasion resistance

Very easily processed

PVC (polyvinyl chloride)

PVC is a widely used thermoplastic, which can be found almost everywhere. It is an important material in industry due to its low price and its self-extinguishing and good mechanical properties. PVC is used to make pipes, casings and covers, seals, tubes, equipment for electrical isolation, strip curtains and floor coverings.

Low water absorbency 0,2%

Good toughness and tensile strength, high strength

Good dielectric properties

Not resistant to organic solvents

Poor weather resistance

Self-extinguishing

pvc

PC(polycarbonate)

Polycarbonate is a widely known material, which has excellent resistance to impact and to high and low temperatures. Polycarbonate is used to make protective glasses, windows of vehicles, shelves and separating walls.

Density 1,2 g/cm3

Operating temperature -150°C…+120°C

Good dielectric properties

Excellent impact resistance

Fair chemical resistance

PC

PMMA (acrylic)

Acrylic or Plexiglas is brittle, but it has great mechanical strength. PMMA is scratchproof and easily polished.

PMMA is used to make thermoformed products, showcases and lamps.

Good mechanical strength and hardness

Brittle

Very easy to polish

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)

PTFE or Teflon is especially known for its chemical inertness and resistance to a wide range of temperatures. It is used to make seals, bushings and insides of pipes.

Operating temperature -200°…+260°C

Excellent dielectric properties

Fireproof

Great chemical inertness

Resistant to ageing and weather

Not easily glued (a special corroded material is used for gluing)

 PTFE-Skived-Sheet

PP (polypropylene)

Polypropylene is used to make pump parts, linings for different products and lifting equipment.

Density 0,9g/cm3

Operating temperature +5°…+100°C

Low water absorbency 0,01%

Good dielectric properties

Good chemical resistance

Not weatherproof

 

Available in sheets in various thicknesses and sizes. 

 

 

PET (polyethylene terephthalate)

PET has excellent chemical and dielectric properties. It is also easily welded.

PET is used to make those products, where low water absorbency is important. It is also used to make bearings and cog wheels.

Brittle in low temperatures

Not weatherproof
